We really enjoyed our stay here. The condo is well maintained and looks just like the pictures. Great view from balcony. But you can’t get down to any beach access. Signs posted about the dangerous cliffs and lots of reviews on Yelp warning of the danger. So you have to drive to a beach. Other than that, it was great!
This beautiful condo located in Princeville has beautiful ocean views from every room, including the lania. The 2nd bedroom has twin beds, but it worked for us. The Princeville location is somewhat of a drive to other parts of the island, but we enjoyed the drives. Our only slight complaint is every night we could hear the people above us walking heavily and doing what sounded like moving furniture around. But it only last a little while. We do recommend the Ocean Bluff Retreat!
We loved our stay. The condo was perfect for our family of four with two young kids. It's nice with great views, clean and comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook meals and comfy beds and furniture. And it was nice to have some beach toys, boogie board and other beach gear. Close to so many fun activities! We loved the Jungle adventure at Princeville Ranch and the botanical gardens were awesome too. And so many good restaurants near by! Highly recommend.
We stayed at this Airbnb in October and the weather was absolutely gorgeous. The condo was spacious, modern, had a well-equipped kitchen for a rental property, very clean, and most importantly, every night, we fell asleep and woke up to the sound of waves with a beautiful view of the ocean. Just behind the building we found a few Adirondack chairs for guests to have morning coffee in or enjoy an afternoon glass of wine. That was in addition to the lovely private balcony at the condo. I highly recommend this place for anyone who is looking for a cozy, comfy, homey stay on the North Shore. The location is perfect as well, just about 5 minute drive from the grocery store and an upscale St. Regis property with amazing restaurants and cocktail bars.
We had an amazing stay for 10 days here in paradise! The condo was beautiful, in a great location, we loved having our morning coffee on the balcony and listening to the waves crash at night. We were in for a treat with a great view of the huge swell that came rolling in while we were in town. We would definitely stay here again as the condo fit all of our needs! Mahalo for the great stay and experience!
Unlike some of my online dating experiences, this property is exactly as pictured online. Very comfortable and well-equipped. I especially liked that there was an ice maker in the freezer, which is great when filling water bottles before heading out for a day of hikes. I also liked that there was a "regular" couch instead of some uncomfortable wicker thing to lounge on for a few moments at the end of the day. The property also had all sorts of beach-related equipment - chairs, towels, sandcastle building stuff, etc. Basically everything you need for your time both indoors and out!
We loved our stay. The place had a spectacular view of the ocean and loved that it was street level so no stairs to get to and from car. The condo was clean and had a nice open layout. All the amenities were there to make our stay more enjoyable. Used the beach chairs regularly and there were nice things like cooler, an umbrella, bodyboard, etc. that were nice to have available. We will definitely recommend this listing to others and will see if available when we return to Kauai in the future.
This condo is PERFECT! We loved the location and especially being able to hear the ocean from our bedroom and living room. Located in Princeville very close to several beaches. Owners supply beach chairs and ice chest to take to the beach. Within walking of Queen's Bath and Secret Beach. We had a wonderful week!!
As someone that has frequented Kauai/traveled extensively over the years I can confirm unequivocally ALL reviews giving this condo less than 5 stars clearly came from a certain sub-set of individuals - Malihini's, Inexperienced Travelers, The Bougie, or all of the above. Before I breakdown how I came to that conclusion let's talk about why you should stay here: VIEWS, VIEWS, VIEWS! You will legitimately feel as though you're on a cruise ship in the middle of The Pacific thanks to oversized windows throughout. Also, being able to hear the waves crashing on the rocks below enhances that feeling. Location/Accessibility: The condo is less than 5 mins to Princeville center, but tucked back enough to feel private and relaxing. Despite being on the 2nd floor there are NO stairs needing to be climbed! Amenities: Jeff & Shana's place is well-equipped with whatever you could need, but I was especially pleased they had beach chairs. Décor: The furniture made this place feel like a home away from home. It was comfortable, but visually appealing. Overall, it was a fantastic rental! Ok, here's why you should ignore the negatives in the 4 star reviews. The complaints from them revolved around two things: being able to hear the people above (this is a 2nd floor condo) and "NO A.C.". I'm not sure exactly why being able to hear another human being walk around/make sounds is so particularly detrimental to one's vacation experience that they would no longer consider it a 5 star trip, but one can assume a lot about a person from it. I'd assume said persons have never lived in an apartment building, or a home with a more than one floor. If they have lived in such circumstances, but are still bothered by it then I would assume they're bougie. The sound was minimal, and certainly didn't hinder my vacation in anyway, but I also don't expect a vacation rental to be sound-proof like the $600/night Ritz. If you don't know yet, A.C. is a RARE thing in Hawaii. Honestly, there is no need for it. Temps usually max out at 85F with ever present trade winds of 10-15mph. Once upon a time there was no A.C. anywhere, and we all happily carried on with ceiling fans. This place has fans! If you still think it's hot with them on, I would recommend being screened for hyperthyroidism. Basically, if you NEED A.C. and virtual silence to enjoy your trip stay down the street at the Ritz-Carlton, but if you're looking for a more authentic vacation experience stay at this condo!
The location and view is spectacular, the sound of the waves crashing below lulled us to sleep every night. The unit was clean, well furnished and maintained, and we particularly liked the open plan between the kitchen and the family room. I found the owners to be extremely responsive and easy to work with. We would definitely stay here again.
The place was comfortable and kitchen was great . Lots of room in mater bedroom. We enjoyed the Ali Kai pool but there are no tennis courts with out using a neighboring Condo. It took a while to master the tv remote for watching but didn’t really need it much. The island is to beautiful to waste time inside...
Nicely remodeled condo right on the bluff overlooking the ocean. Within an easy walk of the Princeville Shopping Center for dining and groceries. Hanalei Town is a short drive away with shopping, a good beach, more restaurants and all the amenities of a laid back north shore town. If you like a slower pace for your vacation this is to place to come!
This condo was perfect for the week of Christmas - right on the ocean, we saw whales and enjoyed a quiet and enjoyable laidback Christmas. The condo had most of the things we needed for cooking a nice dinner. The owners were great about communicating and everything was as advertised. Reputable owners and beautiful property. Don’t know what more you could ask for!
The condo was just as described and as pictured. Very clean and well maintained. We loved the location on the bluff and falling asleep to the sounds of the waves. The kitchen was well stocked, and there was beach gear and beach towels. The managers sent us the information about checking in well in advance, and we had no issues. We never spoke to them while we were there, but that was because everything went smoothly. The location was convenient to the great north shore beaches, and we loved nearby Hanalei. We loved Kauai and hope we can return!
The condo was wonderful. Much more spacious than I anticipated. The views and sounds of the ocean and cliffs from the sliding glass doors in the living room and the wall-length windows in the bedrooms were superb. The wrap-around lanai was great for sitting and watching the ocean. The condo was super clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well-stocked, the dishwasher and clothes washer were very handy. The closets and drawers were filled with extra linens, towels, blankets, and everything you could need. The location is quiet. We never met our hosts, but they were very responsive to texts and emails. On the last day our coffee maker quit working and they replaced it that same day. The only glitch was getting into the condo. Apparently we were supposed to have received an email with directions and the combo to the door lock. I didn't realize we hadn't received these until we were en route from Lihue Airport. It took a couple of hours to make contact with Jeff and Shana but we got in once they gave us the code. Kauai was our second island in our Hawaii trip, we started on Oahu. We all loved Kauai hands down over Oahu. Oahu is crazy crowded and we couldn't even get into half the things we tried to see. The best tourist thing we did on Kauai was the waterfall tour from Safari helicopters. Unforgettable and amazing. The car trip through the Waimea Canyon was also amazing. Our final destination on that trip was Koke'e State Park, where we visited the visitor's center and got hiking information. We took the clerk's advice for the driest hike and hiked to the top of one of the waterfalls. (Dry is a relative term in Hawaii!) The Hee General Store in Kapa'a was a blast. had their "organic" shave ice---yum! I would recommend this condo wholeheartedly and plan to return.
The view was fantastic from every point in the condo, it was gorgeous inside, well appointed, and very relaxing. The orientation provided for excellent cross breeze and ceiling fans added for any time the breeze dropped off. I cannot say enough about how much we liked this condo - we will definitely be renting again when we return to Kaua'i - if it's available! We stayed at this condo for a week in October, 2015. The condo was excellent. Kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. 2 spacious bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. All very clean. It is advertised as being on the second floor which it is, but there were no stairs to climb as the first floor is down 1 level from the parking lot. WHAT A VIEW!. We spent a lot of our time sitting on the lanai relaxing and gazing out at the ocean. The owners worked with us from our first inquiry right through our stay. If we go back to this island we will be checking availability for this unit. Perfect for 2-4 people!
